Aloo Gobhi

Aloo Gobhi is a simple recipe that combines the much loved potato with the cauliflower in a sauteed dish that cooks fast and goes well with hot rotis or pooris . Aloo Gobhi is prepared in a variety of ways through out India , here is a very easy and tasty recipe and can be eaten with some yogurt or pickles to enhance the flavor.

Ingredients:

Potatoes, cubed: 2 medium
Cauliflower florets: 2 cups ( about half of a cauliflower
onions, chopped : 1 medium
ginger , chopped: 1tspn
garlic , chopped : 1 tspn
tomatoes, chopped: 1 tspn
turmeric powder: 1/2 tspn
cumin seeds : 1 tspn
corriander powder : 1 tblspn
chilli powder: 1/2 tspn
garam masala: 1/2 tspn
chilli flakes : 1 tspn(optional)
cilantro, chopped : 1/2 cup

Heat about 2-3 tblspn oil in a pan . add cumin seeds, chilli flakes, onions, ginger, garlic, and saute till onions turn transclucent. then add potoatoes and a little water and cook till potatoes are half cooked. Add tomatoes and cauliflower and cook for 8-10 min till the vegetables are cooked . Add garam masala and cilantro. Serve hot with any Indian bread or rice.
